SWARMS

Delsol’s sold-out debut collection is a 10,000 piece evolving artwork. It can be transformed by collectors and redefines the role of the artist as the sole creator. It explores the intertwined relationship and impact of humanity on nature.

GENOTYPES & CLASSES

The collection is split into 7 Genotypes and 3 classes of bees.

GENOTYPES

  • SETIN

    DISTRIBUTION: 30% of the collection
    LORE: These bees are earth stabilizers. They can convert Martian mudstones to rich soil and structure minerals into livable hives.

  • AJAYAN

    DISTRIBUTION: 20% of the collection
    LORE: These bees are the life creators and have the ability to birth mycelium filling the ecosystem with energy.

  • HEPHRA

    DISTRIBUTION: 15% of the collection
    LORE: The hephra's circular metallic hives allow the Ajayan colonies to flourish at their center.

  • RAHJIN

    DISTRIBUTION: 12% of the collection
    LORE: These bees are water finders. They can vibrate next to glaciers to melt the ice and survive the harshest Martian storms.

  • HADURYAN

    DISTRIBUTION: 11% of the collection
    LORE: These bees are the blacksmiths and builders. They harvest energy on Mars and are the architects of Swarm’s next-gen.

  • PERSEPHAI

    DISTRIBUTION: 7% of the collection
    LORE: These bees never see the sun. They forage underground for water tables and organize hives to structure new sources of water.

  • AETHERYAH

    DISTRIBUTION: 5% of the collection
    LORE: Interplanetary nomads, these bees are the fruit of genetic symbiosis with AI. These conquerors are built to spread the Swarms beyond the abyss of space.

GENETIC PROFILES & EVOLUTIONS

Each bee has a unique genetic profile. It consists of a mix of 7 genotypes and defines the aesthetics, rarity, and evolutive path of the artwork.

They can evolve twice. Collectors have to permanently destroy 1 bee to enhance another in the Swarms evolution chamber.

CLASSES

  • WORKERS

    Workers are the most common pieces of each genotype with a 60% distribution.

  • DRONES

    Drones are the second most common pieces of each genotype with a 35% distribution.

  • QUEENS

    Queens are the rarest pieces of each genotype with a 5% distribution.

ART, SYMBOLISM & QUESTS

The collection comprises thousands of drawings made over the span of 2 years and organized as an evolutive system.

THE ART

Each artwork is a construct of 6 algorithmically selected traits taken from the collection's 900+ hand-drawn parts. They comprise a wide variety of textures, colors and shapes lending themselves to a uniquely rich viewing experience.

TATTOOS & SYMBOLISM

Each bee has its own unique tattoo combination. Decoding their hidden symbolism enables collectors to claim physical art pieces through community and individual quests.

QUESTS

  • EXODUS

    The Exodus quests are a series of 21 puzzles enabling winning holders to claim a large-scale acrylic print of one of the collection's 21 rarest pieces.

  • VAULTS

    The vaults quest is a cross-medium experience requiring collectors to organize and share clues sent out as 50 customized prints.

  • AYA

    AYA is a series of 12 quests enabling Swarms collectors to use certain bees to claim limited edition signed prints from the AYA collection.

PRODUCTION

PROTOTYPES

The bees are composites of multiple drawing styles layered as tattoos on complex, high-resolution pieces. Extensive oil, graphite, and digital prototypes were produced in order to develop the collection.

  • DESIGN

    All 900+ parts are drawn in 5k resolution with pixel precision and animated on every bee's custom page.

  • MECHANICS

    Powered by the blockchain, the art grows in complexity as it progresses through its evolutionary path.

  • PHYSICAL RELEASES

    Over 30 quests have been completed and 70+ physical pieces sent out to Swarms collectors.
